Fiesta Americana Villas Cancun

Fiesta Americana Villas Cancun is a great location in the heart of Cancun, Mexico. This is not my first trip to Cancun, but it is my first trip in many years. I first came to Cancun on a cruise and knew I wanted to come back and stay.

Day One Travel & Arrival at Fiesta Americana Villas Cancun

Your trip will probably start with a direct flight from one of the 50 airports in the USA. Cancun is now easier to get to than most locations in Mexico. My flight was 5 hours and strictly a basic commercial flight. TV movies would have you think that any flight to Mexico would include live chickens.

Well, my chicken-free flight was peaceful and only about 5 hours.

Once I landed, I chose to take a local car service to the resort. One of the reasons I chose to be driven to the resort instead of getting a rental car was that this is a feature-filled resort. I have found when I stay at these resorts, I tend not to leave nearly as much.

At this resort, there are 5 restaurants on site.

Checking in was easy, and my room was clean and nice. I had a master suite and the resort also offers suites that are up to 3 bedrooms in size available. The master is just under 700 sq ft and the 3 bedroom is over 2,100 sq ft.

After settling in, I was ready for some food. My first meal was at RESTAURANTE MEXICANO, which as the name sounds is the resort’s Mexican-themed restaurant. I found my meal great, and it hit the spot after my travel since I hit the air without lunch or breakfast.

Recent Reviews

We have just returned from a 15-day stay at FA Cancun Villas. We have been coming here for many years and we love the fact that it is NOT a mega hotel and you do not have to do inclusive; We like to eat out at the other restaurants Cancun has to offer, and when we don’t feel like going outside of the hotel, we eat at the La Palapa or the Steak restaurant.

I would like to say if Jonathan Mena (recreation) and Rafaela (barmaid) weren’t there, we would not go back. They made our stay worth every minute. Jonathan is so entertaining and Rafpaela could run circles around everyone. Great employees.

Great experience, very professional, friendly people and service! Food and drinks are all first class. Definitely, the best hotel to stay in. Will come back next year with my whole family for a vacation. Clean beaches, great bars, restaurants, and activities to do.

An aging hotel, still relatively well maintained, with wonderful and friendly staff in the restaurant, at the reception, and on the beach. Great food, great service, wonderful beach. The location is really good, close to everything. The staff here makes all the difference! For them, only the best marks!

Day Two Spoiling Myself

I started the day with the breakfast buffet at RESTAURANTE LA PALAPA, which overlooks the ocean. What an amazing way to start the day.

Afterward, I headed to the spa on site.

From their site: At Uru Spa, we create an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. We have the perfect treatment for you, adapted to your specific needs. Begin your journey to wellness in the hydrotherapy circuit, consisting of a sauna, shower, and Jacuzzi; or experience our purification ritual. Then indulge yourself with a massage, exfoliation, or body wrap made from oils and natural products.

After the time at the spa, I headed for the crystal clear waters of the sea here. Cancun has water that allows you to see everything. I grew up on the water in Virginia, and I have spent years at beaches up and down the east coast. Yet, no water I see at home is like the water here. You feel spoiled by the amazing views.

Any visit to this resort should include time not only just on-site in the pools but in the local water. It is just amazing. If I had felt more energetic, I would have gone scuba diving. Scuba here is great because of the clarity of the water itself.

About midday, I started in on the drinks a little. Since I opted for the all-inclusive option, I was taking advantage of that for some nice rum-based drinks. I love too many rum drinks that I can make for a cheap date if needed.

They were tasty, but not as tasty as lunch. For lunch, I chose the Bikini Bar, which was mostly snack-based. But the snacks were enough to help hold the alcohol at bay.

Next was dinner and that was at LA BODEGA, which is Argentinian themed and amazing. If you love your meets go here for dinner. There are tons of options on-site here, but this is a perfect dinner.

Day Three Excess

OK, this resort gives you the option to book as an all-inclusive or just for accommodation. Doing the all-inclusive seems to be a no-brainer to me, but if you do not want to overdo it on the fun or do not drink adult beverages, the latter room-only booking may be more for you.

I was all in for the all-inclusive, and given the food and fun drinks, it was just great.

I started the day with the breakfast buffet again. Then just took the day enjoying the sun.

Stopping for lunch at RESTAURANTE MEXICANO again, and I love their entire menu. I confess I have almost covered over 3 days. The pool bar was my favorite location. Silly to travel for hours on a plane and sit at a pool bar or in a pool. But the weather here was wonderful. The bartender was beautiful, professional, and talented. I felt like I had my own personal entertainer.

Now in Cancun, if you are not like me and want to be on the move, there are many options for you.

Visit Playa Norte

The very first natural attraction on our list is Playa Norte or North Beach, which is among the top 10 beaches in the world. It is worth the trip from the resort or a trip from home just to see.

There are many Beach clubs that Playa Norte with chill music, amazing setting, and cocktails. This amazing Island is a must-visit when you are in Cancun.

Local Shopping

If you want a little break from beaches and resorts, head downtown where the locals live and hang out. You are still going to find some tourist shops, but there are more local people than tourists. Malecon America’s Shopping Center and Mercado 28 are two amazing shopping sites in Cancun buy some traditional Wear, go and experience a bit of local life at Park las Palapas, eat at the many tasty Taco stands in restaurants, or walk there in the evening for less touristy nightlife.

So the downtown is just not offering you a traditional and affordable shopping experience, but at the same time, it offers tasty local food and a less noisy, calm and cool evening to walk and relax.
