Hilton Grand Vacations at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas

Hilton Grand Vacations at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas

I think this is going to be my first time staying at a resort owned by a former President. When you travel you always see plaques and marketing that a President slept here. This will be my first time staying at a Trump resort and it will be interesting. I visited the Trump casino in Atlantic City, but I never stayed there.

For me my review will not be political, anything but, I just want to treat this as any resort and see how it stands up.

Day One Travel and Arrival

Like any trip to Vegas for me, it all starts with the flight. Thanks to Vegas being such a top destination, the flights are cheap. I think it may be cheaper for me to fly to Vegas than just about any other airport.

My round-trip pricing was less than $300, but if I booked more creatively, I could certainly save even more. The $300 price was flying in on Friday morning, which is one of the most popular flight days and times for Vegas.

The flight to Vegas from the East Coast is not a long one, nor is it usually a rough flight. I think 1 time in 10 we had some turbulence coming down through a storm.

On my last trip to Vegas, I went to the Hoover Dam, and that was an interesting trip. On this trip, in addition to fun on the strip, I will be flying out to and over the Grand Canyon which I have only done once before and it was more than a decade ago.

On this trip, I am taking a friend with me who has always wanted to go and do Vegas but just has not been able to find the money or time. Since I was staying for free to write this, why not share my accommodation with a pal, and help them have the trip of a lifetime?

My buddy does not fly much and went a pale color I had not seen before during the takeoff. But once he saw how easy the flight was, he calmed down and later, when going down for the landing, even looked out the window and Nevada below.

My friend has had good jobs and made a decent living at times in his life, but he has never really traveled. This is his first time in Vegas and only about his 3rd time out of the state.

Years ago, we worked together for a Fortune 500 company and we have stayed friends since. He is one of those people that gets impressed by little things. It is neat to see him experience something for the first time and how he smiles ear to ear. Almost childlike with his response to things.

I bet in his mind right now he is thinking about finding some crazy lady on the trip and having an “it happened in Vegas kind of memory”. He just does not know what to expect. It will be fun seeing how the Vegas scale of things impacts him.

If you too have not been to Vegas before, it can be overwhelming in its scale. Sure, the Eiffel Tower is ½ scale here,, but that is still impressive. Also, the free shows and experiences are set with amazing casino backdrops and things to do.

Once our flight landed, we went up to the second floor of the airport where you can meet Uber drivers or other providers for airport pickup. It is cheaper than taking a taxi from the ground floor. The second floor is also where you would meet your limo if your driver did not come in with a sign and do the meet-and-greet effort.

We are two big guys, so I got an Uber that was an SUV to pick us up and take us to the resort.

The resort itself is at 2000 Fashion Show Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89109. This puts you right across the street from the Fashion show mall and the Wynn Casino. The entrance is direct across several lanes from the Nordstrom department store.

The resort is bright white and has the gold lettering for Trump International above the area of the entrance. It would be a good spot for a travel selfie.

This location is also very close to Treasure Island and the Venetian casinos. So if you do not mind walking just a block or two, you are close to a ton to do and see when staying here.

It was still hours before check so I had the staff stow my bags for me, and gave them my number to call when the room was ready. I was not pushy because I understand all the work that must happen to turn a villa over properly. I said, “Here is my number. Take your time. We are in no hurry. Thank you for looking out for the bags.” I then handed over a nice tip just to say thank you in advance.

Now unencumbered, we walked to the Wynn casino to look around and play a little. I had a player’s card for the Wynn and I thought we would do the buffet one morning while we were in town, so I would run enough money through the card for some free breakfast buffet visits.

I also thought me and my buddy deserved a drink, and that I would be able to teach him a game or two before our room is ready.

I had booked a 2 bedroom villa for our stay. These are “huge” rooms 1,454-1,509 sq. ft. in size on average for the 2 bedrooms. They say they can sleep 6 and I do not doubt it. They also have top-of-the-line furnishings like the Wolf cooktops in the kitchens. Our room had a nice view of Vegas out the window and you could clearly see the strip.

The Hilton brand does a very good job of cleaning and maintenance. Much better than many other brands I have stayed at over the years. In my mind, I had Hilton still associated with the hotels, but these are full-fledged resorts of the highest caliber.

Our president’s namesake did not let us down at all! Our entire experience was amazing from booking to checkout. My wonderful girlfriend and I truly appreciate the outstanding staff for the superior guest service throughout our entire stay! Highly recommended Trump International Hotel!

The place is so clean. They gave us the king’s bed with all the amenities. The room is very neat and gorgeous!!! They have only one pool, but that’s okay. Free Valet parking. Just give them the tips.. overall I would go back there again. We stayed here for 5 days was booked by Hilton. This is the trump hotel resort that they gave us.

Yes!!! Always yes for Trump’s hotel: fancy, super clean, excellent service, always serving the best. I love the fact that there is no casino and you can just enjoy a 5stars life without the crowd that lingers around with drinks and hopes for winning. Always had a nice experience here and is my first choice when it comes to Vegas.

Trump International Hotel is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Great service, clean, rooms are spacious and spotless and very secure building. Very friendly staff and accommodating. Thank you for your great service, Trump Hotel!

The more I look at the reviews from any of the Hilton Grand Vacation resorts, the it is more the same. Powerful reviews and they all mention how clean the rooms are, and how nice the staff is.

After some gambling fun, we were both hungry, so we started walking back towards the resort and stopped in the mall for something to eat. During the walk across the strip, the staff called and let us know the room was ready.

We continued on to our early dinner and chose to eat at Benihana for some cook in front of your fun with the meal. I also was in the mood for some sake.

After the meal, we checked into the room, which was huge as I said before. The scale of it was surprising since here we are steps from the strip. I also noticed the resort was very quiet. As mentioned by several reviewers, this likely has to do with the fact that the site has no casino.

It is funny if I was here alone I may have just chilled out in the room and rested from travelling, instead we took the time to shower and change, then it was back to the strip.

Day Two on the Strip

Today was the day to hit the strip hard and try to see as much as we can so my buddy can see it all for the first time. Today we are starting with a buffet brunch at the Wynn. This buffet is one of the best on the strip or off in Vegas and more affordable than several. So it offers great value for your money. We were eating for free today thanks to the benefits of my player’s card, also known as Wynn Rewards.

If you are not staying at Wynn and do not have Wynn rewards points to use, the price is only $49.99 a person for the brunch buffet and it is worth it.

Here are the pricing details they vary by day and time.

Breakfast is served on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and is $38.99 per person. Brunch is offered on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is $45.99. Dinner is served starting from 3:00 p.m. on Monday and is priced at $64.99 per person. Gourmet Brunch is served on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is $49.99 per person and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Gourmet Dinner is priced at $69.99 per person. Prices are subject to change during holidays and holiday weekends. Children are ½ the price and the ages for children are 3yr-9yr old.

Vegas buffets are over the top and so large in scale that there is nothing really to compare them to. I have been on many cruises over the years and they are talked about for their amazing buffets, but you could add 3 of those together and still not match the size of this buffet.

They are just that large and impressive in Vegas and the Wynn is one of the largest.

After eating enough to likely kill most except for eating contest champions, we headed back out to the strip and try to see several of the most impressive casinos and free shows along the way.

On the strip, there is a ton to do and see as you can see in this video. Literally, hundreds of things to do and see. On your first trip, just seeing the free shows, and the many casinos and resorts on the strip will be very entertaining. I also think one of the rides gives you access to great views from a decent height. You have several to choose from on the strip.

Here are my favorite locations.

High Roller Wheel at Caesars. This observation wheel has many options. Most love the open bar option of the happy hour.

How much are High Roller tickets?

Tickets start at:

Adult daytime ticket (2 pm – 3:59 pm): $23.50

Adult anytime ticket (starts 4 PM daily): $34.75

Happy Half Hour (21+): $60

Youth daytime ticket (2 pm – 3:59 pm): $8.50

Youth (ages 4-12) anytime ticket $17.50

Children 3 and under are free

*Plus taxes and fees.

From the ground to the top of the tallest cabin, The High Roller tops out at 550 feet, making it the largest observation wheel in North America. It is 107 feet taller than the London Eye.

Eiffel Tower

This 46-story replica offers fun and a great view of the strip. Tickets here are affordable at $24.50.

If you take part in the Caesar rewards program, one of the easiest things to earn is free access to this observation site.

The Strat Skypod

From the site: SkyPod is an iconic fixture of the world famous Las Vegas skyline and recently awarded 2020 Travelers’ Choice. Take a ride to the top for the best Las Vegas has to offer–expansive views of the Las Vegas valley, dining and drinks, adventure, and everlasting memories. The SkyPod features the internationally acclaimed Top of the World restaurant, famous for its award-winning cuisine and 360-degree revolving dining room; the newly remodeled Observation Deck complete with handcrafted treats at 108 Eats and craft cocktails at 108 drinks; our world-famous thrill rides and attractions; meeting rooms and a wedding chapel.

There are many options here, spread over several floors. This includes rides, and a 2 story observation deck.

Given all the options at Strat, it is hard to beat.

We chose to try out both the Happy Half Hour and then the Eiffel Tower at Caesars. They are close together so it is easy to try out both.

When you combine this and the experiences around the strip, we had one heck of a fun day that was also a long day. All together I think we kept going for about 16 hours before I turned to my friend and was like, dude I am done. He understood, and we returned to the resort for some party-earned rest.

Day Three The Grand Canyon

I booked a flight and ground experience at the Grand Canyon.

From the charter website:

Spend time in the beautiful surroundings of Grand Canyon West, including spectacular views at the awe-inspiring Eagle Point and Guano Point. Travel to each magnificent viewpoint on the shuttle bus, with the ability to hop on and off at your leisure. Hike the trail at Guano Point to the highest point, where the scenic vantage point offers a majestic view of the canyon and the mighty Colorado River. You will relax surrounded by the peacefulness that Grand Canyon West has to offer by taking in the sheer cliffs, the unbelievable colors, and the endless spaciousness of the surrounding areas.

Your sightseeing tour would not be complete without experiencing the Grand Canyon’s spectacular views from a helicopter. You will descend and land 3,500 feet below the rim, where you will enjoy the mystique and grandeur of the Grand Canyon. Once you reach the landing site, you will have approximately 20 minutes to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, viewing the canyon and the Colorado River. The entire air flight is approximately 45 minutes.

If you are looking for a truly memorable experience, this is definitely a tour for you!

Included:

Drive through Joshua Tree Forest

Enjoy the many amazing views along the Mojave Desert

Deluxe air-conditioned and restroom-equipped motor coaches

Before the tour, your driver/guide will brief you on Grand Canyon West’s highlights and key points of visitation

Bountiful deli lunch with a choice of ham, turkey, roast beef, or vegetarian

Unlimited complimentary water

The trip was not cheap, but this is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Most people, if they come to the Grand Canyon, will not visit multiple times unless they are from the local area. So booking this, you are seeing one of the great natural wonders, and you might as well invest in the best experience possible within your budget. This does not have to include a helicopter, but it is a neat experience for sure.

More affordable options start for around $80 per person, with a group on buses from Vegas. Those trips are great as well. I did one on my very first trip to Vegas.

Until you see the scale of the Grand Canyon for yourself, you can not process it.
