Holiday Inn Club Vacations South Beach Resort is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I am being a bit of a broken record here sharing that I love Myrtle Beach.

Why Myrtle Beach?

Myrtle Beach not only has more miles of beach and sunshine than any other beach site on the East Coast, but it also offers many fun things to do for its millions of annual tourists.

No matter what you enjoy, you will probably find it at Myrtle Beach.

Day One Travel & Arrival at Holiday Inn Club Vacations South Beach Resort

It is a short drive to Myrtle from my home so I hit the interstate and was on my way in the morning timed to reach the resort near check-in time. The drive itself was only about 5 hours and traffic was a breeze.

The resort Holiday Inn Club Vacations South Beach Resort is located at 3020 Owners Club Court Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. A giant resort sits just off the beach, but in its own wonderful location isolated from the normal beach crowds.

At the resort, giant pools and great accommodations await you and your group during your vacation.

You check in at the main building and get your key to your villa, and directions to your building. (There are many here.)

Thanksgiving Getaway

Just had a pleasant and restful stay after the holiday. The staff and hotel spent were just what we needed.

Great room

We have stayed at this hotel 5 years ago, and the room and the pool are still great. The staff is also great.

Our newfound gem in Myrtle

We loved this hotel, well-appointed rooms, comfy beds, great location and amenities, security gated and decorated for the holidays. Highly recommend. Great staff, especially Michael. It is a timeshare-associated resort so expect a pitch while you’re there.

Myrtle Beach Escape

First time staying at this Holiday Inn Vacation Club – very nice, the grounds kept up nicely and accommodations were good. Away from the hustle and bustle but yet close to plenty of restaurants, etc.

Wonderful Getaway

My husband and I spent the weekend at the resort! The room was clean and spacious. The pool was wonderful, and we were extremely pleased with the resort as a whole. We will definitely be back.

Clean rooms and Helpful Staff

My stay at this resort was a wonderful experience. The room was clean and everything was in order on arrival. The staff took extra time to show me the grounds and answer any questions I had regarding, places to eat, where to go to enjoy a night out, or where to just find a restful place by the beach.

Beautiful and worth every penny

I’ve never been more pleased with a stay as I was here. Everything was immaculate!! I hate that we only stayed for 1 night, but we’re already planning our next trip to go back and stay longer.

Amazing property

Booked at a different hotel that did not meet expectations. Called and booked here last minute. The staff was very understanding and accommodating. The staff was friendly, the facility was clean. The kids had a blast!

Captain Cliff’s Lagoon Bar

Starting my trip after I put my bags away and got settled, I hoofed it over to the Captain Cliff’s Lagoon Bar for a few “I just drove 5-hour drinks.”

Then back to the room for some rest. My room itself was a 2 bedroom and almost 1,200 sq ft in size. So very roomy. I chose the 2 bedrooms because tomorrow I have guests coming to stay with me for a few days. A work friend from a prior job is coming down with his wife for a few days. They had a rough year, and I wanted to provide them with a break. For the most part, I want to let them do their thing, but I also have some options planned if they want to hang out with me.

One of the great things about being a travel writer is that you can get discounted accommodations and share that amazing resort access with close friends or family. I do not do that often, but I enjoy it when I can share a great place like this.

My goal for my friends on this trip is to let them enjoy time away from their life for a few days and give them a break.

Day Two Friends Arrive

I had talked with my friends to direct them to the proper building where our room was. I also had a parking pass for them, ready to put in their car window.

Once they arrived, I showed them to their bedroom and made sure they felt comfortable. Then we headed for lunch nearby.

A Great Buffet

Since it was late afternoon, we went for more of a dinner/lunch meal and chose seafood at Captain Benjamin’s Seafood Buffet which offers many seafood options as well as steak, ribs, and tons of sides too. Buffets are good for guests because, with all the options, people tend to be able to find something they like, even for picky eaters.

This buffet has over 170 offerings, so there is something for everyone here and likely several things that you will enjoy. Now buffets do not always get the best food reviews, but this one maintains an average of over 4.5 out of 5 on Google and that is saying something.

I treated my friends because I knew their last 12 months had not been fun and I wanted to take pressure off them on the money they had to spend to enjoy their trip. If they are up for it, I have some options for tomorrow as well.

The Carolina Opry

Next tonight we were going to the Carolina Opry. My friend’s wife is a huge Country Music Fan, and I go through periods where I really enjoy country music myself. Strange how I have always gone through phases of musical enjoyment.

The location offers several other shows as well as the Opry theme. So, even if you are not a country fan, there are options here.

The local performers here are talented and on par with the best cruise ship performers, you may have seen. Like a Vegas show, these performers are professional and very talented.

Day Three Beach Time

No trip to Myrtle is complete without beach time. Today the weather is perfect at about 78 degrees and clear skies. Early May in Myrtle Beach is special.

They have a shuttle service to the beach here, but it is also a short walk to beach access. We walked and chatted on the way. Then spent about half the day playing in the water and in the sand. You could see the year’s stress drop off my friend’s shoulders.

The beach often at Myrtle Beach has some undertow so you should check online for reports before going in the water, look for local signs and flags, and pay attention. When I was a young man, I had to save my cousin from a serious undertow just about an hour from here on the beaches at Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. So, enjoy the amazing beach but be safe.

There are lifeguards on most beaches here 8 AM-5 PM during the primary months, but every parent and guardian still needs to keep a close watch on their child in the water, if not be with them in the water the entire time. The professional lifeguards are amazing here and truly care about your safety.

Myrtle Beach is also a safe beach with low crime rates and very few issues. I come here from Virginia Beach just because I feel the beaches are safer, cleaner, and better supported by first responders.

More than just amazing beaches, Myrtle has everything you could want or desire in a family vacation destination. With great food, fun in the sun, and many options for a rainy day, you will love your trip to Myrtle and this amazing resort.
