The villa offers over 550 square feet of space and utilizes each inch of it. They were designed to resemble a first-class yachts.  

In these suites, you can fit up to four guests in the master bedroom and hideaway bunk beds for the kids. These beds are lined with the highest quality linens to ensure a comfortable, clean night’s sleep. Because let’s face it, what’s a vacation with a full night’s rest? After you’ve settled into your spot in the villa, come and explore the rest of it. It features a full kitchen, bathroom, balcony, and living room area. The kitchen allows for a few home-cooked meals and storage for leftovers. Not only does this save some money, but it also promotes that special time together. Here, you can also brew yourself a fresh cup of coffee each morning. As you take in the smells of the coffee beans, wander out onto your private, screened-in balcony or porch.  

This added feature allows for some much-needed time for yourself. You can enjoy your morning coffee here or indulge in a glass of wine at night. In the early hours of the day, the sky is still changing colors, and the air is light. With it, it carries the sea breeze up to you to reset your mind and bring you to a state of tranquility. IMAG History and Science Center is Florida’s premier spot for all things history and science. With an array of interactive experiences, you are sure to be captivated by the minds of some of the most intelligent people in our history. They have multiple exhibits and are always changing them up to ensure no two visits here are alike.  

Sitting in history class, you probably learned a thing or two about World War 2. At IMAG’s B-26, the Last Airmen of World War 2, you can learn about the things you missed out on in your textbook. Take a look at the real army uniforms and other war artifacts in this first-hand look into the lives of the soldiers. You can even listen to real audio from speeches of Winston Church and Roosevelt.  

Are you more of a science fan? Look no further than the Hidden Pacific 3D movie. Among the other 3D movies offered here, this takes you into the world of marine life and the beauty of some most captivating islands on earth. It is a fun and exciting twist on an educational film and will have you absolutely astounded. Take a trip to IMAG and redefine the way science and history excite you.  

5.2 MILES VIA FL-865/SAN CARLOS BLVD 

Recently renovated, The Whale offers a fresh take on beachfront dining. With breathtaking views of the water in their lookout lounge, there is no better place to eat your first meal here in Fort Myers. This restaurant offers the perfect balance of exceptional service, food, and entertainment!  

Their menu features the works of the chef’s tasty starters, sandwiches, tacos, and entrees. If you see the whale icon next to one of the menu items, know that it has won, the heart of their loyal customers. One of their most iconic dishes here is their Jack Daniels smoked brisket which features their slow-smoked in-house brisket. It is paired with their house-made barbecue sauce and served with sides of beans, rice, slaw, and cornbread.  

DAY 2: CURIOUS CREATURES

When in nature, you can’t help but wonder about the wildlife that calls this place home. Get a better look into their lives at the JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. This is a place for animal lovers and environmentally conscious alike. It’s the perfect spot to mix education and fun activities all in one.   

Start your visit to the visitor and education center. This place is home to some really cool interactive exhibits on ecosystems, animals, and the National Wildlife Refuge system. For the kids, check out the hands-on area. They get to learn on their own and let their curious minds run wild.  

The Wildlife Drive is a favorite of all visitors because it’s entirely your choice how you decide to adventure through it. This 4-mile trip can be conquered in your car, on foot, or by bike. It features three trails and will take you to popular spots to see birds, alligators, and rabbits, among many other creatures. You can even board the tram where you will take a 90-minute tour through the trails. On this trip will be a guided naturalist who can answer any of your questions and point out the different animals. Come and explore the life of the many beautiful creatures at JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.  

15.8 MILES VIA FL-865/SAN CARLOS BLVD 

You might find yourself on the beach and in need of a refreshing meal. Look no further than The Salty Crab. This casual seafood restaurant takes good food and good vibes to the next level. With outdoor seating looking directly at the beach, sit back, relax, and indulge in a killer meal.  

Look at the menu for some tasty seafood dishes. The shell bar offers oysters Rockefeller and garlic mussels. If you think you’ve had good shells before, think again! If you can’t decide between all the options, opt in for the combo platters. This way, you can taste multiple options on their menu. The Key West combo offers Mahi, shrimp, and conch fritters. Just reading this list is enough to make your mouth water.  

DAY 3: SAIL AWAY! 

6.0 MILES ESTERO BLVD 

Since 2018, Copacetic Sailing has brought their passion for the water and giving sailing tours to the public. Join them for their two-and-a-half-hour Eco Sailing Tour and learn about the water and marine wildlife that call this place home. Climb aboard the 24-passenger catamaran and prepare for an unforgettable, aquatic adventure!  

During your sail, you will start off by sailing towards the Sanibel Island Lighthouse and different parts of Fort Myers beach. This tall structure reaches almost 100 feet in the area! While on the water you will notice the dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles that often pop out to say hi. In the sky above, you will notice the abundance of birdlife that frequent the area. If you have any questions, just ask your captain! At this point, they are the experts in the area of all things in the water.  

0.7 MILES VIA FL-865 AND FISHERMAN’S WHARF 

Starting in 1937, Dixie Fish CO. has been a Fort Myers staple. Originally a fish market, this place has come a long way and has won over the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Today, the structure has been updated and refreshed to welcome back its loyal customers. It is so close and convenient to Mariner’s Boathouse and Beach Resort.

Their apps and raw bar offer fresh catches of the sea every single day. From popcorn shrimp to grouper bites, there’s no better way to start off your meal. Their seafood entrees come with the choice of two sides and are what you make of them. Featuring three steps, this is your chance to pick exactly how you want it prepared. First, you will select the seafood. Next, pick the style it’s prepared. Finally, choose from their extensive list of tasty sides. If you’re feeling like tacos, their seafood tacos win the best in the area. At Dixie’s, there’s just no competition!  

DAY 4: A PICTURE IS WORTH 1,000 WORDS 

16.7 MILES VIA ESTERO BLVD 

Such an underrated part of vacation is the pictures taken. It’s hard to get the perfect shot and make the time to produce some really nice images. Take the stress off it all and get your beach photos professionally taken with Caitlin Allred. We find this best done during the last day of your vacation, as the tan you have developed will add to your glow! 

For an hour, you will work with your photographer to capture some memories you made during this trip. These pictures are then professionally edited and sent to you in an online gallery within two weeks of your vacation. This is perfect for planning holiday cards or special announcements. You will get the twenty best pictures from your shoot and be able to have them as a keepsake forever.

Heidi’s Island Bistro offers the dining experience of being in two places at once. This casual restaurant has a bakery attached for you to grab some fresh goods on your way out. Their cuisine is a fusion of American and German food to offer an all-around meal for your last night.  

To start your meal off, order one of their fresh-baked pretzels served with Bavarian sweet mustard. Follow with a cup of their Goulash soup. A beef stew with peppers, onions, and potatoes. Finally, end the meal with one of their delicious German dishes. From schnitzel to potato pancakes, your plate will be bursting with authentic flavor!
