Day One: Feel Alive

0.5 MILE VIA W 8TH ST AND GUADALUPE ST

Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater is a state-of-the-art, 2750-person capacity live music venue that hosts about 100 concerts a year. It serves as the permanent home for the taping of the PBS series, Austin City Limits which just happens to be the longest-running music series in American television history. This is the prime destination for a real live performance.

This theater holds three levels of entertainment. Level 1 is General admission, Level 2 is premium theater seating, suites, and Austin City Limits gallery, and Level 3 holds theater seating and the Jack & Jim gallery.

If you really want to get a feel for this theater takes a venue tour. On this tour, you will see the music photography of Scott Newton and Jim Marshall. These images will take you back in time to some of music’s greatest scenes. The events that have been captured within one single photo will move you and make you feel like you were really there.

Since 1866, this establishment has been gracing the public with traditional German meals. Raise your glasses and say, Prost, as you look through this creative and appetizing menu.

Try anything on the menu and you are sure to be satisfied. They offer many options for appetizers including Bavarian pretzels, wings, sauerkraut balls, and so many more German favorites. For main entrees, they have burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, and many variations of bratwurst. No German meal is complete without a bratwurst!

At Scholz Garten, you are treated like family because that’s what this restaurant was built around.

Day Three: Reach New Heights

Located in Covert Park is Mount Bonnell, which is considered the highest point in Austin at 775 feet. The peak was named for George Bonnell, who served as Commissioner of Indian Affairs for the Texas Republic. This popular destination is a staple for outdoor activities here in Texas.

While this can look like an intimidating climb, don’t be worried! At the top, there is a view deck and pavilion for your comfort and safety. Once you reach the top of the 102-stair climb, you will be faced with some of the most gorgeous views Austin has to offer. You are able to overlook downtown and the 360 Bridge. The best part?
