When you decide to call it for the night, relax in one of the spacious one- and two-bedroom resort suites. These suites comfortably sleep four to six guests and range from 396 to 1,295 square feet. Most suites offer one king bed in the master, two double beds in the guest room, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. These separate sleeping situations offer the privacy and comfort we all crave and need. At TZort, we want everyone to have a place to rest their heads at the end of the day. As you relax in your suite, enjoy a mini or full kitchen to keep you well-hydrated and fed. Get the entire family together and cook a nice meal as one. DAY 1: FLY HIGH

Rocky Mountain Balloon Adventures takes you to new heights…literally! See the world from a hot air balloon and experience the adventure that the wind takes you on. This activity was named one of the 10 best summer activities in the entire state of Colorado.  

The perfect conditions for hot air ballooning are just after sunrise when the mountain air is still calm and stable. You and your group will participate in the inflation of the balloon to really give you a taste of what it is like to work with it every day. You will be amazed as the balloon turns from a flaccid piece of material to a gigantic 120-foot-tall giant.  

As you see the balloon come to life and feel the basket lift off the ground. Feel all your worries left on the ground and watch as nature lights up all around you. You will see hidden canyons, valleys, and the entire skyline in front of you. On the journey, you may reach 3,000 feet for a 200-mile panoramic view of four states. You will listen to the history of Pagosa and see a plethora of wildlife like hawks, osprey, and bald eagles.  

After the journey, you will work to deflate the balloon and pack it up. The end of your adventure will commence with a closing ceremony. This 200-year-old tradition of a celebration with champagne originated in France and is an exciting way to end the trip. You will enjoy muffins and juice for the kids!

DAY 2: FEEL GOOD IN THE OUTDOORS

Being in a place like Pagosa Springs calls for lots of time in the outdoors, but where in the outdoors should you spend that time? Pagosa Outside offers the ultimate adventure in the great outdoors. They offer rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, tubing, paddle boarding, and disc golf rentals. Whether you want to fly through the rapids on a raft or bike through the trails, they have got you covered!  

Pagosa Outside is a company that feels like it is run by your own family. They have carefully perfected every detail so that your experience with them is safe, fun, and of very high quality. They are located in numerous launch sites and river access points to give you a variety of options.  

When in Colorado, you have to try white water rafting. Here, whatever your skill level is, there is a trip for you. They offer eight different white-water rafting experiences ranging from easy to intermediate to advanced. During your trip, you will be with a guide who will make sure you are staying safe and having the ride of your life.

Excite your taste buds with a taste of Louisiana at The Lost Cajun. This cozy, New Orleans-inspired restaurant offers tasty, authentic Cajun food. They offer fresh dishes that are just packed with the flavors of the south.  

Their menu features an array of options from Po’Boys to Gumbo to Beignets for dessert! If you want our recommendation, we encourage you to try the spicy Cajun sausage po’boy, the alfredo pasta, or the classic chicken and sausage gumbo. If you’re a seafood fan you have to try the cat-etouffee: 3 strips of southern fried catfish glazed with crawfish etouffee over a bed of rice, served with hot garlic French bread.

Whatever you choose on this menu, you will be satisfied with every last bite.  

DAY 3: ALL ABOARD

See Pagosa Springs from the seat of a train at Wilderness Journeys Pagosa. With four train tours available, you can take your pick of the terrain you will cover on your adventure. As the train comes to life, you will hear it hit the tracks under it and watch as the smoke starts to collect in the air above you.  

The four train tours available are the Cascade Canyon Narrow Gauge, Summer Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge, Summer Silverton-Durango Narrow Gauge, and the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic. The Cascade Canyon Narrow Gauge tour takes you on one of the oldest railroads in the United States. The knowledgeable guide will introduce you to the history of the area and information about the train you are aboard. As you sit in the standard coach seats you will be taken through the Animas River Gorge. This railroad adventure takes you through some of the most gorgeous views and nature and covers so much ground.

This train tour includes transportation to and from the train station, standard coach class seating tickets from the train, and a visit to the train museum. These train cars are heated and have restrooms available. A refreshment car will come to serve you and you can purchase your lunch on the train or bring your own to save some money!  

Your train will return to the station in the evening and you will already start to miss the views you just saw.  

DAY 4: THE ARTS

Enjoy a night of entertainment at The Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts. This is one of the area’s largest cultural attractions, devoted to all aspects of the arts. It celebrates the people’s talents and gifts and allows them to share with the community. In its 29th year, it continues to bring stars to the stage.  

This center offers Broadway revivals, plays, and live music, and is truly an experience just to be in the seats. They have done popular shows like Beauty and the Beast and It’s a Wonderful Life. While you may have seen some of these shows already either on your TV or at another performing arts theatre, there is something new in each show. These performances are an outpouring experience of talent and passion for the craft.  

They produce some shows that are kid-friendly and some that are more geared toward adults. Whether it is a show you have seen before or one you have never heard about, prepare to be wowed.

Enjoy a slice of warm, tasty pizza at Mountain Pizza & Taproom. All of your dreams of brick oven pizza and craft beers will come true at this casual outpost. Its Neapolitan-style pies and self-serve tap wall will excite your mind and taste buds.  

They begin their pizzas with fine-grade flour to mix a delicate dough that is aged for 24 hours and hand-tossed. They then apply a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, their custom-designed Mountain Red Sauce made from fresh hand-crushed tomatoes, exquisite cheese, and the finest local and imported toppings. These pizzas are handmade in front of you and placed in the 800-degree rotating floor Brick Oven. The pizza is cooked with care and out it comes to your table.  

They also have a beer and wine tap wall that is self-serve. This really customizes your experience and you get to choose what you want. They also have an instant glass chiller to help keep your beer cold for longer. They also offer a wide variety of appetizers, salads, and desserts.
