Day One Travel & Arrival at Diamond Resorts Orbit One Vacation Villas

Travel today is just transferring from another local resort to this one. I am changing from a recently rebranded Diamond Resort, not a Hilton Club location, to this. The Hilton brand made a giant deal and bought out Diamond Resorts some time back. They are still in the process of rebranding some of the resorts under the Hilton flag. It takes time to process all of those changes, but the high standards of excellence of both brands certainly remain.

This resort is closer to the Animal Kingdom side of Disney and my last resort location was on the Hollywood Studios side. Disney purchased a great deal of land all those years ago. He was clever in how he did it, too. Disney used several land trusts to purchase the land. That way, locals knew people were buying the real estate, but they did not know it was all one company, much less the popular Disney brand. This prevented them from having to pay much more than the current value of the real estate at the time. This saved them millions on the real estate itself.

This resort is a well-maintained property that has many villas onsite. The resort itself has pools, tennis, and much more all onsite. That is nice for families because you may not be spending every day on the vacation at the parks. So, having on-site entertainment and fun is a critical thing on my list for resorts in Orlando.

Here, there are two major outdoor pool areas and two tennis courts on-site for fun as well. All the villas here are two bedrooms. They also have that great Florida villa set up. The one where you have the main bedroom with a king-size bed and then twins in the second bedroom and a pull-out sofa in the living room. So, each villa can comfortably sleep 6 people. This size works great for families. The villas are 1,250 sq ft which is more like a condo than a vacation villa with its large size. You could move right in and live in these large accommodations.

Many of the villas also boast a great balcony that overlooks the resort. That is a nice plus to the already very spacious and open feel of the space. My villa had a view of one of the pools, which just felt like it gave you more energy when you woke and saw people already walking around the resort to the pool, or to just start their day at this great location.

Recent Reviews

My husband and I found this gem when we decided to take a last-minute trip to Disney World. We stayed in a two-bedroom, two-bath condo that also had a full-size kitchen, living room, and large dining table for six. I believe the living room couch also folds out, meaning this condo could easily sleep six. Major unexpected pluses when we got into the room were basic kitchen needs were present. Basic supplies like dish soap, toiletries, trash bags, shampoo, and bar soap were also provided. The biggest bonus was the stacked washer and dryer in the closet!!!! The staff is very friendly and extremely accommodating. I can’t say enough great things about this property! I have already recommended Orbit One to my family and friends for future visits. Keep up the great work. We will be returning.

This place was awesome. The workers were awesome. The grills were awesome (cleaned daily). 2 Bedroom condo was great. The family loved it. I kind of hate leaving such a great review because I consider this a hidden gem. Also, hit the H20 waterpark down the road. Awesome slides and not long wait times.

Lovely little resort. All 2-bedroom condos. Super clean and well laid out. Two outdoor pools. We’ve stayed there many times because it is centrally located and a great resort.

The pool was heated, and the room was a good size for 6 people. The staff was very helpful. Our needs were always taken care of. The location was close to restaurants, drug stores, Dunkin, and Walmart. We cooked quite a few meals, just wish there were a few small pots for like vegetables. Stay overall was great!

We have a child who suffers from autism. Our flight was rescheduled for a late departure. Gm James Szabo of Orbit accommodated our family with a late checkout to make my son comfortable. We appreciate their kindness.

Favorite resort to stay in Kissimmee. Every stay has two rooms and two bathrooms and a full kitchen and a balcony. The Master bedroom has a huge tub to relax and enjoy. The resort has a volleyball court, basketball and tennis court. The pool has two slides, a splash pad, and a huge jacuzzi. The staff is great, and the location is perfect for many restaurants and Disney theme parks. Will definitely be back.

It is hard to beat reviews like those. When you read more of the nearly 1,000 reviews, you will see much of the same. Even the few 4-star reviews talk about the great staff here and how they made the stay more enjoyable or dealt with a concern. That is very impressive. They must have a great management team on staff here. We all do different things for a living, but it is always nice to see talented and caring management staff. That really shows in all front-line staff that help the customers.

Day Two Universal

It can be hard to decide which of the major theme parks to go to. Of the 3 major parks Disney, Universal, and Sea World. I think Universal offers the most value. They also seem to have just a few fewer add-on expenses to get the most out of your park visit.

Universal Orlando resort is the name of the entertainment resort complex which includes two theme parks those being universal studios, Florida, and universal islands of adventure. You also have universal’s volcano bay water theme park within the complex.

Like Disney, you do want the Park Hopper or multi-park pass. Maybe even more so at Universal. For Harry Potter fans you can take the Hogwarts Express from one park to the other, and you can not even ride it without that level of pass. I think that is the main reason I prefer that pass for Universal.

At Disney, the Magic Kingdom has 34 rides and attractions all alone and Epcot has many as well so you could do each one of those for a full day or more.

Here at Universal, they have done a great job of balancing the fun between the two major parks. So much so that you are likely to want to do something from each park during any daily visit. Since I had skipped breakfast to get here early after a late wake-up (the room was very comfortable), I wanted to grab a butter beer for the sugar first thing. Luckily, even at the start of the day, one of the carts that sell them was already open for crazy sugar in the AM folks just like me.

Careful with these with the kids planning on them having nearly Godlike (Greek Gods) energy after they drink one. These things would be great if you needed a kid to test for ADD/ADHD. Even a normal child would likely be seen as hyperactive after just one. They are great if you can handle the sweat taste.

Not as big and complicated as the competition down the road, Universal Orlando is the fastest-growing theme park resort in Florida. It boasts several new attractions and hotels opening in recent years with more on the horizon, which may be a bit daunting for newcomers.

Universal opened in 1990 with its main opening attractions being nickelodeon studios, confrontation earthquake the big one, and jaws all of which have since been replaced, unfortunately. I was here by chance in 1990. I had not heard the park was even opening. I had planned on going to Disney on my first solo trip of its kind at 20 years old. Instead, I found Universal and spent several days here in the original park. Later, in 1997 universal announced that Universal Studios Florida would be expanded into the Universal Studios escape to include Islands of Adventure, Universal City walk Orlando and several hotels. This would be later renamed Universal Orlando resort in 2002. In 2007 Universal announced a section of universal’s islands of adventure would be rethemed to Harry Potter. The Harry Potter World would later be named the wizarding world of harry potter which opened on May 28, 2010. Then in 2014, the Hogwarts express was introduced allowing guests to travel between Hogsmeade based on islands of adventure over to king’s cross and Diagon Alley over in Universal Studios in 2017 the tropical-themed water park known as Universal’s Volcano Bay was officially opened replacing wet n wild as Universal Orlando resort official water park. These days you will not catch me at a water park, but I did enjoy them when I was younger. Your kid may love this as well.

Universal encourages its guests to ride the movies. The park features eight themed areas all situated around its large lagoon. The first area is production central, which sits at the front of Universal Studios Florida.

This is the first area guests will see upon entering the park after passing through the front lot, whilst not one of the most visually appealing sections as it is intended to show the working side of the studios. That is kind of neat. So neat it remains a very popular area of the park as it contains some of the park’s best attractions. These include the Shrek 4d show, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Hollywood rip ride rocket, and Transformers the ride.

As we continue north, we’ll arrive at the New York section,  which takes guests back to the classic New York of the 1930s 40s, and 50s. Be sure to explore the crooked alleyways between the main streets for some authentic-looking urban backdrops. New York contains the blues brothers’ show, the race through New York, starring Jimmy Fallon, and also one of Universal Orlando’s best coasters Revenge of the Mummy.

Heading east of the park we have the San Francisco section, which unfortunately is but a shell of what it was formerly amity and Jaws were replaced by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The main attraction in this section is Fast and Furious supercharged.

Next in my tour is the Hollywood section, which is close to the park entrance over the lagoon. This area aims to recreate the glamour and energy of southern California from the 1930s through the 1950s with some of the most stunning architecture at Universal Orlando.

The main attractions in Hollywood are Universal’s horror makeup show and the Born Stuntacular.

Heading east will arrive at Woody Woodpecker’s kid’s zone, obviously geared towards the park’s youngest guests. This section provides a variety of playgrounds and live, shows including a day in the park with Barney. Yes, be prepared to get that song locked in your head for a week.

Day Three Universal Part Two

Starting my day at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Diagon Alley is one of the most immersive theme park experiences in Orlando. Once inside, you’ll find plenty of shopping experiences,  including the famous Olivanders as well as unique dining experiences such as the leaky cauldron. The main attraction within Diagon Alley is Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.

After you’ve finished, you can make your way back to the king’s cross in London cross through platform nine and three quarters and take a ride to universal’s neighboring theme park Islands of Adventure via the Hogwarts Express. You’ll arrive at Hogsmeade station which is located right outside the entrance to the Hogsmeade village worth mentioning that you can actually ride back in the opposite direction via the Hogwarts Express where the train journey is equally entertaining and the queue is also much shorter heading in that direction the Hogsmeade area features snowy rooftops through the village containing several storefronts, of course, taking center stage is the majestic Hogwarts castle the main attractions within Hogsmeade include the flight of the hippogriff junior roller coaster, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure which is the newest attraction within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Lastly, you have the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey which is the signature attraction for the area and is located inside Hogwarts castle.

When you exit Hogsmeade, you’ll realize that you are now in a completely different theme park which is Universal’s Islands of Adventure modeled after a journey of exploration where guests embark on an adventure to visit a variety of themed islands of course the Hogwarts Express is not the only way of entering this theme park but it is certainly the most fun.

It is worth mentioning that the train ride is different each way with new things to see. So dedicated fans might want to ride the train each way first early in the day before crowds get larger. This one has a long wait during the day because they only put individuals or families together in the cars still for COVID safety concerns. So the lines, for now, at least can be hours if you do not go early, or catch it at the end of the day.

Have your own dream vacation to Universal, Disney, or Sea World staying at this resort. Just book it through Tzort and save it.
