Diamond Resorts Barefootn Resort

Diamond Resorts Barefoot Resort is in Kissimmee Florida. Kissimmee has been a big part of my vacations for many years. It is a pleasure to be back in this town again and right here on the doorstep of all Orlando has to offer.

Day One Travel & Arrival at Diamond Resorts Barefootn Resort

This is the 3rd Diamond resort experience I am writing about on this trip. Last week I stayed at two parts of a resort for 3 days each, and now I am transitioning over to this Barefoot resort. I really enjoyed Alhambra and Alhambra Villas. It was a great location to launch your Orlando area fun from. This resort, however, has a more youthful or active feel to it. The buildings are designed in what feels like a Caribbean style which has a very energetic look at feel.

My room at this resort is a 1 bedroom again and since it is just me on this trip that feels right. I liked trying the villas out at my previous resort, but I felt guilty having such a big space to myself near Orlando.

Villa Amenities

  • Balcony/Porch
  • Blender
  • Cable TV
  • Coffee Maker
  • Dishwasher
  • Ice Maker
  • Microwave
  • Refrigerator
  • Stove/Range

Then the resort itself offers all of these options.

Resort Amenities

  • Free WiFi

Since I am transferring from another Diamond Resort, I did not have the long drive down today. Now that was almost 6 days ago at this point on my trip.

This resort is located at Old Town in Kissimmee, which is a great location to be your home base for everything in Orlando. The old town is a collection of shops, rides, and entertainment right by the resort.

Nice rooms, big, comfy, and clean. We were upstairs, and it was quiet. The pool area was nice, and the water was the perfect temp. Right across the street are shopping, food, and entertainment. It was close enough for Uber to the parks as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice place, clean and roomy. Right across the street from restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The pool area was beautiful. The only thing I missed was a balcony upstairs. We were able to Uber or Lyft to all the close by attractions.

The price for the area was Great. Having a private entrance for each building (so only the unit upstairs and downstairs have keys to enter) along with a separate room key was a definite plus. Gated parking lot right across from the old town and many other shops all within walking distance.

I can’t think of a single thing to improve upon here! Quick, easy check-in process. (We showed up around 7 pm and had no issues and there was no line.) Clean grounds. Clean, comfy, and spacious rooms. There is a basketball court, volleyball, a nice pool, and a hot tub. I honestly was surprised we got this room for the price we did this close to Disney! It was just my boyfriend and me but I think this would be a wonderful option for families. Kids can stay in the living room portion, which is completely separate from the bedroom. 2 TVs, a large soaking tub, a walk-in shower… a complete kitchenette with everything you would need to eat in. a Small dining table, cups, dinner plates, forks, paper towels, dish soap… It’s basically a small apartment. We put the Do Not Disturb tag on our door and they actually left us alone. LOL—we travel a fair amount and know that sometimes these can get ignored. You’re also right across the street from Old Town, which is an adorable place to spend the afternoon.

Excellent accommodations! Very comfortable room. Good location. Very nice pool and rec area. The gated compound feels very secure.

Very handy for Old Town and restaurants on the 192 and parks. Limited amenities on site. Ideal if you aren’t driving.

This place is so sweet. Nestled up behind Old Town. It’s gated and has sweet amenities. My check-in and check-out are so seamless. A little home away from home. Love the wash/dryer combo, fewer things for me to do when I get home. A nice little lake. Nice pool area. Will be back.

Relax as you stroll through 18 acres of beautiful, tree-lined brick streets and discover over 70 unique, affordable shops and restaurants. There are free, weekly live entertainment and events, family-friendly attractions, and rides every generation, young and old, can enjoy together.

I thought I would be here for a few hours, and I ended up spending the day. It is fun, the rides are fun too. I liked the pace of the area and it felt like the name alludes to more of a fun older time. Something from my childhood or even before. They often have car shows here and locals bring their 1950s and 60s-era cars. I hope to make it here for one of those soon.

Day Three Sea World

Sea World is still fun. Though with the mega Universal and Disney, it often gets overlooked for those major theme parks. If you want great family time with less money out of pocket, this offers an impressive value. Tickets now are often near $50 and they offer many deals and packages to make that price even lower. So, this theme park offers real value compared to the big boys of Orlando.

The major rides in the park are here:

Mako, Kraken, Manta, Ice Breaker, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, Journey to Atlantis, Infinity Falls,
Super Grover’s Box Car Derby
, Sky Tower, Wild Arctic, Turtle Trek, and many more.

They also have 5 shows that include famous live animal acts with killer whales and dolphins. They also do a great job at the park of talking about the rescued fish and other sea life. It is a focal part of their mission and something that is easy to admire.
