Being in Hawaii is all about immersing yourself in the gorgeous nature that this state holds. Waimea Canyon State Park is the perfect spot to introduce you to some of this beauty. Dubbed the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, this is a sight too beautiful for words alone.
Throughout the canyon, you can find tropical cliffs, many lookouts, and some breathtaking waterfalls. If you’re in the right spot, you will even see a few rainbows. The landscape is a mix of pink and green and the time of day will significantly change what you spot. The park has multiple designated trails that will lead you to some of the best spots in the park.
Be sure to pack a swimsuit as the waterfalls provide a calm swimming and picnic spot. The best part about it all is that it is so massive that you can choose exactly where you want to go. If you find yourself needing a little assistance, multiple tours are given and are a great way to learn more about the park.

Each boat offers something different depending on what you are looking for. If you want a more relaxed sail through the waters, we suggest the Star Na Pali Sunset sail. This trip is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing cruise at sunset. It is a rejuvenating experience with a freshly prepared meal and a luxurious coast through the waters.
The Na Pali cave petrol option is perfect for adventure seekers who still want to enjoy the beauty of nature. You will take the custom 24’ rigid hull raft right out to the caves where you will encounter waterfalls, and rock formations, and even get up close with some of the sea life. It is three hours of non-stop exploring and you will get to immerse yourself right into these sights in nature.

After a day of adventure, Sam’s Ocean View restaurant is just what you need to end the day perfectly. This waterfront restaurant allows you to take in those gorgeous views even while enjoying a delicious meal. They serve locally sourced ingredients and fresh, never frozen fish.
They know how important nature here in Hawaii is, so they practice their dining in the most ethical way possible. Their menu is a globally inspired, fresh selection of all the chefs best. The small plates are the best place to start as they will introduce you to some of the flavors of your main meal. Their entrees are well-prepared meats and seafood with flavors that will delight both the mind and soul.
DAY 3: FALL IN LOVE WITH NATURE
3.4 MILES VIA KAAPUNI RD
The Ho’opi’I Falls are the ultimate adventure into nature. Pack your bag for a day in the water and be sure to charge up your camera. The sights you see here are almost impossible to describe with just words.
Once you arrive, the two-mile trail will take you through its canopy of trees that make up the small jungle here. A few scenes from Jurassic Park were filmed here and we can see why. Stepping onto the trail feels like being in the movie itself. It is an immersive experience and really awakens the soul. This trail will take you to the first waterfall where you will find rushing water on the rocks and a narrow pool below. It is a great spot to stop for a little refueling and rejuvenating in its waters.
After making your first stop, continue on to the main waterfall. This trail is a new side of this green wonderland as it has huge trees with ferns and vines all around it. The trees form a sort of natural cover, but the sunlight still gets to peek through and shine on these gorgeous trails. Arriving at the main falls is a breathtaking experience. They are a bigger set of falls than the first and provide a much larger lagoon for you to explore. There is even a rope swing to play around on! A day touring these falls is a day well spent and one we just know you cannot pass up.
3.9 MILES VIA KAAPUNI RD
JO2 Restaurant is the fusion of many international cuisines. With influences from the French, Japanese, and Hawaiian cultures, you will be taken to new places with a simple bite of your meal. Their dishes incorporate locally grown vegetables and locally caught seafood to ensure optimal freshness.
Their cocktails are made with freshly squeezed citrus and are crafted by the bartenders here. A meal here is not just an experience for the tastebuds but for the eyes as well. These well-crafted dishes taste amazing and have the looks to back them up! They incorporate the beautiful colors of the scenes here in Kauai. Choose from any one of their entrees and you will be satisfied with every single bite.
DAY 4: AN ALL-IN-ONE EXPERIENCE
5.2 MILES VIA OLOHENA RD
The scenic coastal Kauai Path is the perfect way to end out your time here in Kauai. It is miles and miles of the marked paths just for you to hike, bike, or run through. The best part about this path is that it will give you a vantage point of the coast that you cannot always see from a car.
You can rent a bike for a fair hourly price and ride around town enjoying the wind through your hair. This path will take you toward Kapa’a point where you can see the friendly wildlife that inhabits this area. Both sea turtles and dolphins are frequently spotted here and love to pop out and say hi. As you continue throughout the path, you will notice it takes you to multiple beaches. Be sure to pack a swimsuit and lots of sunscreens because it will be a day filled with fun in the sun!
6.0 MILES VIA STATE HWY 580/KUAMOO RD
For the past 40 years, Bull Shed Restaurant has been offering its customers the best in fine dining. The restaurant is set right on the Royal Coconut Coast and is the perfect place to catch some beautiful ocean sights. With choice cuts of steak and the freshest catches of the sea, you will get to indulge in one last delectable meal.
