DAY 1: DIVE RIGHT IN

The best way to explore the area is by jumping right into the water. Join Starfish Snorkeling for a trip to the Sombrero Reef. As one of the planet’s largest and most spectacular barrier reefs, it’s an experience in nature like no other. During your tour, you will see the plant life and teeming tropical fish that call this area of the water their home.
You will start off by cruising to your destination in their entirely covered custom catamaran. If you’re feeling like you need a break, a shaded lounging area is available for you to take a moment to yourself. This vessel features freshwater showers and concessions for you to reset after your time in the water. This also allows the tours to be open to explorers of all ages. The staff will get you suited up in gear and prepare you for the adventure ahead. Once in the water, you are free to roam around the 30-acre reef that has been dubbed the underwater jewel!

DAY 2: COME AND PLAY

Dolphin Research Center opens its door to anyone wanting to make a new friend. This new friend is one of their very own dolphins, sea lions, birds, and iguanas. They are the prime center in Marathon for the research and education of these glorious creatures.
They aren’t a center used for profit and entertainment. Instead, they pride themselves on being a place for animal lovers alike to come and learn about their conservation. You can engage in a number of activities with the staff from camps to labs. They have separated each to fit the adult or child age group. These activities will teach you the basics about the animals as well as provide you with a fun interactive experience. It is a day during your vacation like no other.

Back by the resort, Fish Tales Market and Eatery claim the title of being the oldest fish market and restaurant in Marathon. This full-service fish house is the place to come if you are craving fresh seafood. They use locally sourced ingredients and coordinate with the vendors of the area to provide fresh meals to you. It is family owned and operated so they know how important a family meal is together.
To start off your meal, enjoy a German or craft beer on tap. Their conch salad or George’s smoked fish spread are great appetizers to prepare you for your meal ahead. DAY 3: WELCOME HOME!

Have you ever wanted to explore the ocean just beyond the shallow waters of the beach? Come visit Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters to meet all of those friendly aquatic animals. Take a new look at the ocean and become connected with the creatures of the water.
They have structured your time here to be as interactive as possible. In the feed the animals encounter, you can feed tarpon, turtles, lobsters, and so much more. Learn about the unique diet of each animal and how they thrive in the wild. If you want to have an even more hands-on experience, take part in one of their encounters.
The coral reef encounter allows visitors to spend time in their 200,000-gallon saltwater tank. While in the tank, you will see the diverse coral reef environment that is home to the unique species of coral reef. These coral reefs are native inhabitants of the Florida Keys so there is nowhere else where you can have this kind of first-hand look. This and so much more are open for you to explore!

For entrees, you can enjoy pasta, seafood, or sandwiches. And to ensure everyone gets a taste of the Houses cuisine, vegetarian and vegan dishes are available! DAY 4: KING OF THE WATER

Guided by the king of the water, Captain Jack Callion has been the expert behind Callion Fishing Charters. For over 25 years, he has been guiding his clients on the fishing experience of their lives. Because he was born in Marathon, he knows the area very well. He is familiar with the migration of the fish and what kind of weather will allow you to have the most successful charter.
Once you arrive, you and your crew will board the 25’ SeaVee center console boat. This vessel is the best of the best with a 200 HP Suzuki engine and optimal space for four adults and one child. Included in your charter is a GPS, fish finder, bait and tackle box, and cooler to keep your catches fresh. All of this is included to allow you to have a worry-free charter.
Your trip with Captain Jack will last anywhere from four to eight hours depending on your preference. What you encounter while on the water is completely up to you; it’s not a one size fits all experience. Fish you can expect to see are tarpon, mackerel, snappers, and even sharks. To top it all off, your captain will clean your fish for you once your time is over. This way you can take your catches home and have a tasty fish fry for dinner.
