Day One Travel & Arrival at Diamond Resorts Boardwalk Resort and Villas

As you arrive at the resort, one of the great things is how easy the parking is this is one of those Resorts that’s right on the beach and has the parking deck attached to the actual Resort so towards the street as you enter into the property you see the large parking deck and you can enter into the parking deck and go up into a spot park your car and then go finished checking into your room.

also when you first arrived you don’t have to park on the deck, you can of course park your car temporarily while you’re doing the check-in, and then once you know that you’re going to be on then you can park on the deck and an available spot possibly closer to your room and that makes it nice.

The resort itself is it 1601 Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach is the main stripMake sense since the name of the resort itself is Boardwalk Resort Villas are there it is right on the boardwalk of Virginia Beach on the boardwalk in Virginia Beach is uncommonly large and nice. If you’re coming into town with a flight into Norfolk International, it’s only about a 25-minute drive from the airport about 19 miles from Norfolk International itself.

As I drove into the resort, I was a little early for check-in so on the way as a drove in on what’s going to Virginia Beach Boulevard which is the road that you’re on if you are taking the interstate either from the airport or just driving into the area and headed down towards the beach from the interstate itself. Since I was early, I stopped at Commune, which is a farm-to-table restaurant that is frankly off the main road that Virginia Beach Boulevard. They offer a very healthy Farm to Table menu with items that are using fresh ingredients from the area. Virginia Beach and its surrounding areas have a lot of local farms and local farms that offer just about everything and then, of course, also the area is well-known for its Seafood.

Something that is pretty unique about the menu when you’re at kommune is there actually list many of the local farms that are their suppliers right on the menu at cell which I think is really neat so they list the white category of ingredients and then under that many of the local farms that provide those types of ingredients for the venue itself. The restaurant maintains its own garden and is listed first, but then it lists many local farms from both Virginia and a few from the North Carolina area since Virginia beach is pretty close to the virginia-north Carolina border.

The Commune, you’ll find the menu at self is mostly a breakfast menu but they also offer sandwiches and since it was later in the day, I tried one of the sandwiches out myself that’s what I chose to go with for my late lunch and what I had was the chicken salad sandwich which has pickled onions and baby greens and then they have it on a Sourdough brioche bun. It was excellent and something that I would certainly recommend then I saw some of the Crepes that were going to tables near me and I went ahead and ordered some of these sweet white crepes. The white crepe was born like a desert, then a standard menu item in my mind, and was very tasty.

Everything was nice but the TV location. My TV in my room was like on a downward angle. But every else was cool. There is a pool, jacuzzi, and a nice view of the city or the ocean. Parking can be tight if there are events going on.

The front desk staff was so incredibly accommodating and professional, I was shocked. They are polite and prompt. They text you to see how your stay is going, their rooms are clean. One of the elevators was unfortunately broken,, but it happens. Will be making this our new go-to spot!

Excellent stay at the Boardwalk Resort and Villas. The staff was super nice and professional. The rooms A and B suites were extremely clean, comfortable, and spacious. We had the best balcony view of the ocean for both rooms. Just minor touches to the studio are suggested. Definitely, we will book again. Highly recommended!

The service was excellent, punctual, and professional. Also, the rooms were clean, neat, and tidy. Highly recommend staying here.

This was an incredible space to have it. The room, the beach view, and the room cleanness went to an incredible experience. I really enjoyed my time here. You are next to the beach and can walk or do some workouts. Also, many stores are nearby. Inside you have a restaurant, gym, or pool.

Day Two Getting to know the area

One of the great things about Virginia Beach is its location only on the ocean but within the area, we’re just going to Hampton Roads. Hampton Roads gives you access to many cities with Rich local history that goes back to the founding of America. This means that if you love history in your history buff, you are very close to the core or routes history for the founding of America early American history and everything from local forts that were active in both the Revolutionary and Civil War to the Yorktown Battlefield where Cornwallis surrendered. In addition, you also have Colonial Williamsburg oh, the Yorktown Battlefield, and Jamestown, all available and within a quick drive of fewer than 2 hours from your Virginia Beach location.

What this means for you is gas does that you’re so close to too many other things to do and it’s just not your typical Beach vacation. yes you have great access to the beach, but in addition to that, you will also have all the local historical places and things to do that are right at hand and easy to get to. The only difficult thing at times is traffic in the area can be pretty heavy, especially during those peak summer months, so you just have to plan your day accordingly if you don’t want to sit in traffic at a water crossing. Hampton Roads is a socially about seven different cities and those cities are on various sides of bodies of water. Virginia Beach is on the beach is on the Far Eastern side of the water and on an opposite side from Colonial Williamsburg Newport News and Hampton of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. That bridge tunnel sees traffic from about 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. most days during the summer. And from about 4:30 to 6:30 it can become a parking lot. If you plan your day correctly, you will have planned your day not to be trying to cross the water during those hours.

Beach Fun

Today the weather was great, so I didn’t plan on going anywhere. I wanted to stay right there on the boardwalk, right on the ocean, and spend some time down on the beach and in the water while I was here. The thing that makes Virginia Beach unique when you’re at the beach itself is the boardwalk. The Virginia Beach Boardwalk extends almost all the length of the commercial part of the beach so you go from a small condo hotel at the end of the boardwalk on one end and then you go to a large turnaround at a park on the other end.

If you’re staying all day on the beach in front of the resort, one of the things you may want to do for part of the day is to rent a bike and do some riding up and down the boardwalk on the bike not only does it give you easy access to places to eat for lunch in places to get ice cream and Treats but it allows you to see more of the boardwalk itself the ocean and just makes getting around more fun.

Day Three the Aquarium

While staying at the boardwalk Resort, what are the things you may want to do if you run into a day where it’s a little rainy or overcast and the beach isn’t your first choice for the day the visit the Virginia Aquarium. Tickets to the aquarium r24 95 per person from 12 to 61 years of age seniors 62 + or 2295 children 3 to 11 or 1995. Unlike many smaller aquariums here, you really get great value for your money because of the scale and size of the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. During the peak summer months, you’ll also see that the parking lots here have a $5 charge. This just helps with the upkeep and the added demands with the higher levels of traffic and tourists in season. Here at the aquarium, you’ll find many tanks and zones, and exhibits to enjoy. One of the most impressive is the Chesapeake Bay Aquarium. Here you will see the actual wildlife that exists at the 200-mile long as to where he that is called the Chesapeake Bay and you will see many of the plants and other things that are natural in the local environment.

The Chesapeake Bay is the nation’s largest estuary, but it’s also much more than that the bay has more than 50 different major streams and rivers pouring in feeding it freshwater from all of those sources and it encompasses a watershed area that is over 64000 square miles The Watershed itself runs through New York and through Six States before ending it the ocean.

The total Shoreline, including all the various tributaries and supply bodies of water, runs for over 11684 miles. end, the Witt runs from 2.8 miles to an amazing 30 miles across.  The bay has an average depth of 21 ft with the deepest point being 174 ft.

what makes this aquarium experience unique and powerful is both the inside and outside trails and exhibits that you can enjoy while you’re at the aquarium itself. And through the aquarium, you can also Experience boat tours and go out and see the wildlife like dolphin watching when the boat tours or even go out on the Atlantic Scout which is a jet boat that takes you on a 70-minute excursion going out and seeking Wildlife like dolphins or sharks in the bay in an outer ocean. The aquarium has B Osprey Cafe which is a nice little spot to catch a quick lunch if you’re making a day of it at the aquarium they also have a store that has not only some novelty items but also some really good gifts and science related toys for the kids.

After you’ve toured the aquarium on your way back to the resort, why not stop at a Lolly’s Creamery which is a local ice cream spot videos right on 17th Street in the What’s called the vibe District which is at 414 Virginia Beach Boulevard only a turn or two away from the resort itself.
