Hilton Grand Vacations at Anderson Ocean Club is in Myrtle Beach, one of my favorite vacation destinations. Few places offer the value and fun of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
This location is on the beach and is located near several of my favorite places on the beach.

Day One Arrival
I drove down I95 from my home in Virginia. It is a fast 5 ½ hour drive that you have several older alternate routes in case of traffic issues. I did not need an alternative route down on this trip since it was still early in the season. Springtime in Myrtle Beach is lovely, but it does not get the same crowds as the prime weeks in Summer.
Since there was no traffic, I made it here before the check-in time. If you have read my travel blogs before, you know I love all things touristy, and I also enjoy mini-golf. Right across the street from the resort is Lost Mine Miniature Golf, which is a fun-themed mini-golf. The mini-golf is free for guests so that was an awesome bonus for me. I think it would be wonderful for families as well.
A great thing about this resort is the parking. It is on-site and below the building. With an entrance on one side of the resort and an exit on another. Parking at the resort is not uncommon in Myrtle Beach this was just executed well.
Next, the location is great for this resort. Not only is it directly on the beach, but it is also right across the street from an excellent buffet restaurant and it has the free mini-golf for guests which is great for kids and families. The location also offers walking distance of many other amusements. Walking distance is not as important in the off-season, but during the prime weeks when traffic is heavy, it sure is nice to be able to just gather the troops and walk somewhere. It saves a ton of hassle.
The peak weeks here are in June, July, and August. These are the months when you find bumper-to-bumper traffic, the hottest days, and the most vacationers.
I got settled in and then went to Magnolia’s on the 26th which is right here basically on-site with the resort. If you are leaving the resort, it is right across the street next to the mini-golf and before the additional parking garage. With your 4 PM check-in, you are right here ready for this meal if this is the location you want to eat at first on your trip.
There are other options but if you like buffets, this one is a good one, and the staff is great.
Reviews
Here are some recent reviews of the resort.
Leah at the front desk was most helpful. We booked our room, and we were not sure about what the features were going to be. She upgraded us and made our stay in Myrtle Beach memorable for just a two-night stay. Thanks, Leah for being flexible with our needs!
Great hotel experience. We stayed for 4 nights, Monday to Friday. We stayed in the one-bedroom suite, with an ocean view. This hotel is truly oceanfront. From the pool area, it is just steps to the sand. The rooms that say ocean view has a small angular balcony, big enough for two adults in two provided chairs, and also a small round table. The furnishings are nice and modern. Full kitchen with oven and cooktop, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, full-size fridge/freezer with ice maker, and a dishwasher. There was also a washer and dryer in the room. Large flat-screen TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Free parking in the garage across the street as well as a mini golf course that’s free with your stay. Pool hours are 8 am to 11 pm. I’ve included pictures of the pools. There are actually 5 pools and two hot tubs. 1 hot tub and two pools are covered by the roof and the others are open-air. There is one small pool that is 1ft deep, most of the others are 3-3.5ft. Overall great experience, especially for the price. Central location to most attractions.
I would highly recommend this resort. I had a 2 bedroom oceanfront suite on a high floor and the view was spectacular. Watching the sunrise every morning and even seeing dolphins from the balcony was stunning. The resort staff, in ALL departments, are friendly and helpful. The location of this resort was perfect, and I liked that it was away from the boardwalk in a quieter section. Using Uber to get around was seamless and very inexpensive.
Anderson’s a Hilton Grand property. The staff is extremely friendly and my oceanfront room is very, very nice. A full kitchen and washer and dryer are available in the room, making it convenient for long stays.
My personal review:
I had booked a 1 bedroom oceanfront king that was impressive. Not only was the room clean, but it was also pristine. The view was the million-dollar view of the beach and ocean we all want. The balcony was large enough for several people to have a little breakfast, or just to sit and watch the sunrise or the sunset over the ocean.
My bed was very comfortable one of the times when you pull back the sheet just to check what kind of mattress it is in case you want to purchase one. The kitchen felt larger than it was and was well laid out. The stove was nice and modern, you could really cook in your suite if you wanted to. It would be very nice for a family.
Rooms here are available in 1-2-3 bedroom suites with various views and features. They range in size from 673 sq ft to over 1,400 sq ft.

After my dinner at Magnolia’s, I went back and checked out the resort before hitting the beach for sunset. The resort has a nice spa, fitness center, on-site dining, great pools, and the best beachfront location imaginable. It is large but not too large to prevent you from getting the lay of the land quickly.
If this is your first trip to Myrtle Beach, stop and watch the Sunset. As the sun goes down over the water, you are treated to a view that often turns the clouds and the sky into the most amazing colors imaginable.
Just get to bed early because this is the East Coast, so the sunrise will make you cry.
Day Two Beach Fun
Starting your day with that ideal beachfront sunrise is nice. It is worth getting up early at least one day on the trip to see it. If you have an oceanfront or ocean-view room, why not set an alarm and watch it every day? Then if you are tired, just go back to sleep.
I could completely see a couple getting up together for some quiet time watching the sunrise, then snuggling again until the kids got up here.
For me, the sunrise offers an opportunity to connect with nature, and slowly start moving for the day. The oceanfront room just made it nicer because I did not have to get dressed and could see it all from my balcony. Wow, that was a daily treat.
Today, I did go back and lay in bed for a bit. Then I got up, hit the showers, and headed out for some breakfast.
I often go to Magnolia’s for their breakfast buffet, but today I wanted to try something new. Close to the resort is Harry’s Breakfast Pancakes. My first name is Harry so I am lame enough where that sucked me in. But the food was good, and the service was nice too.
I had blueberry pancakes and a ton of sides. It was a good thing I did not walk here because on the walk back I would have to have kept walking for half a day to burn off the calories.
My first stop today would be Broadway at the beach.
Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach is one of the most popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Located in the center of town, it offers a wide variety of shops and restaurants. It also hosts many events throughout the year.
Broadway at the Beach is a great place to spend a day. There are many places to go shopping, eat, and enjoy entertainment. You won’t be bored there!
There are many fun things to do at Myrtle Beach. You can go swimming, play golf, or enjoy other sports. There are also plenty of restaurants to eat at. Address: 1325 Celeb Cir, Myrtle Beach SC 29577, United States.
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade is one of the most popular attractions in Myrtle Beach, SC. It’s located right next to Broadway at the Beach and offers a variety of things to do including shopping, dining, entertainment, and more.
The boardwalk is divided into two sections. The first part stretches from Plyler park to 14th avenue north pier. This part is home to beautiful landscaped, lush vegetation, and a rustic raised wooden deck. The second part, which goes from 8th avenue north to Plyler park, is the busiest spot. It houses shops, arcades, cafes, and other entertainment.
The South Promenade is a beautiful place to go to relax. You can see fireworks shows there every week. Sun There’s also a nice beach and lots of space. Now, when you have a beachfront resort, you typically just want to play on the beach at the resort because it is so much nicer to move on and off the beach with a resort room close by.
There is a ton to do at both locations here. My favorite is just to walk around and wing it, choosing things to do as they catch my attention. Today I went to the Wax Museum.
Wax Museum
The Hollywood Wax Museum is one of the best tourist attractions in myrtle beach, South Carolina, especially if you’re a fan of wacky sites, and photo opportunities. It opened its doors in 2014 and has the simple goal to honor the long, complex history of the film industry with wax figures of celebrities.
There are many exhibits in this museum. You will see celebrity statues, movie characters, and other things. Some of them are scary, but others are funny. This museum is very interesting because there are lots of fun facts about famous people.
For these kids, think of this as their selfie opportunity of a lifetime.
Local Semi-Pro Baseball
If it is baseball season, do not miss a game with the Pelicans. The Pelicans are the Class A level team that feeds the Chicago Cubs for their professional players. This is a great local baseball stadium, and it offers great games and low prices.
Wine Tasting at Duplin Winery
Wine lovers are looked after in this town. Duplin Winery is a local winery in North Carolina. They were founded in 1976 and have a tasting room in North Carolina. We visited them while we were visiting Myrtle Beach.
Tastings cost $12 per sample, as crackers, and cheese. Excellent service. You also get a full glass of wine after the tasting. A great value.
Their Hours Monday-Saturday
Shopping: 11 am – 6 pm
Wine Tastings: 11 am – 5 pm
On U.S. Highway 17 South, Duplin Winery is located next to Alligator Adventure and in front of Barefoot Landing.
Day Three Beach Day Fun
When you have the best beachfront access, it is hard not to spend a full day just enjoying the ocean. The beach here is wide enough to find a nice place to relax at both low and high tide times.
My day started with a sunrise from the balcony, then an early breakfast buffet at Magnolia’s. It is an amazing start to any day, much less one on the beach.
Right at the base of the resort building and on the beach are several pools. A lazy river, one large pool, then two shallow pools for kids. It is well laid out, all with direct beach access. Next to the larger pool, there is even a hot tub. If it was early spring or fall, the hot tub would have called my name for sure. I love being in a hot tub when it is cold outside. They are fun even when snow is falling.
For onsite dining and drinks, you have two options. B-bar and C-bar are not inventive names but the drinks and snacks are good. I say snacks because they do not offer many entrée size items. But when you want a bite to eat and do not even want to cross the street, it is a nice option. Certainly, drinks on-site are a treat.
C-Bar is the location in the lobby area and B-bar is the location in the pool area. When it comes to drinking on-site, I will go bar area every time I have a choice. I love the smell of the salt air from the ocean and the pool views.
