DAY 1: WANDER INTO THE FALLS
13.6 MILES VIA WESTCHESTER DR AND US-70 E
Traveling can be expensive. This is why we want to show you places that don’t require you to spend extra money. The Ozone Falls in Tennessee is in the top 5 waterfalls in the entire state. This place gives you the refreshing dose of nature that you have been craving. And the best part? The trail is beautiful and has easy access, so anyone can come and enjoy this natural beauty.
Ozone is a 43-acre natural area in Cumberland County. It so heavily attracts visitors because it’s so close to Interstate 40. You will take a small hike to end up at the site of this 110-foot rocky plunge. The bottom of this waterfall is a deep, rock-strewn pool. This pool then disappears underground and reemerges some distance downstream. A rock house amphitheater has been naturally created over time to give the falls a backdrop. The surrounding area of the falls is home to so many native plants and animals, so keep your eyes out! You may find a little critter jumping around on your path to the falls.
Fun Fact: Ozone Falls was selected for filming scenes for the movie “Jungle Book”. Channel your inner Mowgli and come explore Ozone Falls.
