Resort Life at its Best

All-time favorite resort in Gatlinburg…. definitely feels like being at home with the full apartment style setup and the fire-places are a huge bonus.

Clean rooms and sound proof

My overall experience at the property was memorable and awesome. Rooms were big with plenty of space to move around… Bathrooms were very clean and spacious… very refreshing smell in the rooms…. Safe and mature atmosphere all around the hotel. The best part is that the property is within walking distance of all the attractions in the area.

Great place to stay

Smoky mountain resort really does feel at homes. Friendly staff and very detail oriented rooms. From the lobby to the bathroom, the entire lodge is great. Walking distance to everything too!

Fun in the Smokies

Went to Gatlinburg for the car show enjoyed had a good time. The hotel room was very nice very clean comfortable beds did not get to use many of their facilities because we were only there 12 hours

08/14 – 08/16 stay

Great experience will return in the future and have praised your facilities to family members and friends

Great rooms and stocked with items that you need to use while in a hotel

The rooms were perfect, and it had everything we needed. Laundry room, kitchen, and dishwasher. Access to the hallway to our rooms were limited so there was reduce foot traffic, which was nice. Overall the hotel looks good and clean. It didn’t look like a dingy motel. It was worth the money that we spent.

Day Two Gatlinburg

The gondola that takes visitors up to the top of Mount Anakeesta is a one-of-a-kind experience! Soar to the top of the mountain on this high-speed cable car that connects downtown Gatlinburg to Mount Anakeesta, one of the most popular destinations in the region. Cross the longest pedestrian sky bridge in the United States, as well as several pedestrian and bike paths that connect Anakeesta Mountain to Gatlinburg and its attractions.

Gatlinburg offers a wide variety of outdoor activities. Families, friends, and couples come here to enjoy it all. Biking, birdwatching, horseback riding, and hiking are all recommended activities. Who would have guested that Gatlinburg had this much to see in doing, all in Mother Nature’s backyard?

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Rated as the best aquarium in the United States by USA today in polling. This Ripley’s aquarium is even more impressive than their Myrtle Beach location if you have had a chance to visit that Ripley’s location before.

Features of this aquarium

  • Experience Sleeping With the Sharks
  • Behind the Scenes Tours
  • Educational Programs
  • Splashing With the Stingrays
  • Penguin Encounter and Painting programs
  • Marvel at 12-foot sharks, a giant sea turtle, thousands of exotic sea creatures and playful penguins as you enjoy the Most Spectacular, State-of-the-Art Underwater Tunnels
  • Touch Horseshoe Crabs, Jellyfish & Stingrays
  • Play in the New 3-Story Discovery Treehouse & Play Center
  • Experience a ride over Shark Lagoon in the New Glass-Bottom Boat

My own visit was fun, and I took maybe 3 hours seeing it all. Likely, it would have consumed more time had I been entertaining kids. Instead, I was entertaining the kid I hide away from my childhood until today.

Ride the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tram to a mountain of fun.

Anakeesta Mountain

This site is truly one of a kind. The creators took a lovely mountain top and created a nature wonderland into a unique experience. I looked around and the weather was wonderful.

I stopped at the Smokehouse for a late lunch and enjoyed a meat platter. I enjoyed the brisket and baked beans, with the corn on the cob. That along with sweet tea. This is just one of many restaurants on top of the mountain here. Your family group could enjoy the same location or divide up and everyone gets just what they want for lunch or dinner here.

The Cliff Top restaurant here also has a great reputation and dedicated local fans. For adults, there is even a Tap House for that refreshing beer that is calling your name on the mountain.

As the sun went down, I went to the Bar at the Top of the World for a few nice little beverages. As the sun disappeared behind the nearby peaks, I felt at ease in this unique space.

Day Three Game time

Fanny Farkle’s is a game center and experiences all to itself. This is one of the few original game parlors left in the country. I can count on 1 hand how many of these are left. Few that are this size and scale. Skeet Ball, and hundreds of games as well as carnival like foods.

Parents and Grandparents will get a kick out of seeing the original games and fun that have been a major draw to visitors for over 40 years in this region. This is the largest gathering of games in the Smokie Mountains, and has a great combination of classics, and new games alike.

There is a reason that this great place has survived and thrived since 1981. They have updated the games here to a card system that is easier than all the countless quarters of the past. This also allows them to make some meal and game deals available.

Skylift Park

The chairlift here takes you 1,800 feet above sea level to the Gatlinburg Skybridge, which is the longest Skybridge, where you can enjoy the best views of the Smokie Mountains.

Gatlinburg Mini-Golf

Gatlinburg must be the mini-golf capital of the world. There are more mini-golf sites here than you can shake a club at. There are so many themed mini-golf locations that it keeps the prices low, and the crowds down. If you have read my travel blogs before, you know I am crazy about mini-golf.

Circus Golf 3D, Ripley’s Davy Crockett Golf, Hillbilly Golf, Gatlin’s Mini-Golf, and more all await your best swing.

Adults can also enjoy a wonderful Golf Course in Gatlinburg.

The area also boasts more game locations, adventure parks, and fun for kids of all ages. If you want to get the kids off of the phones and playing outside, Gatlinburg promises an opportunity to disconnect, while reconnecting as a family.

Dollywood

Dollywood is just wonderful. While I did not make it on this trip. I have been before and really enjoyed this theme park. Not only because Dolly is amazing and does so much through her charities. But because the park is so nice and well ran.

It is just one town away from Gatlinburg. The main park and water park could be several days for your trip alone. If I was choosing just one park, even on the hot days of summer, it would be the theme park itself.

If you are here around Christmas time, do not forget that Dolly does Christmas big, wonderful, and life changing. The only competition for Dollywood is Christmas Town at Bush Gardens or Disney. Everything else just can’t match the experience here.

Just make sure you stay at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Smoky Mountain Resort and book through Tzort.
